DIFFUSE LIGHT occurs on overcast, rainy or misty days where the cloud cover prevents direct sun. Why would you want to shoot in dull weather? Well, indirect sunlight lets the camera see deeper into shadow areas because there is less contrast. Colours are also more saturated. So diffuse light is great for shooting in woodland and forests, for shooting foliage and flowers. It is also good for shooting people because they do not squint their eyes up because of strong sun.
So don't put your camera away in dull weather, use it to your advantage and pick the right subject.
Next time I will talk about SIDE LIGHT.....
