MOUNT BATTEN - PLYMOUTH
Mount Batten is a promontory on the Eastern side of Plymouth Harbour overlooking the Barbican old town. It is named after a Naval commander in the Civil War. A tower, formerly used as a gun platform, stands on the site. During WW2, flying boats were based in the area to protect the Atlantic approaches to Britain. Our visit was brief to enjoy a window between heavy rainfall. Enjoy!
