Stover Country Park
Stover Country Park is about 25 miles from Plymouth and consists of a large lake and a conifer wood. The main attraction is a family of Great Crested Grebes which are uncommon in the Plymouth area. We came at a time when they were raising their brood of chicks and have the strange habit of carrying them on their backs to keep them safe from fish predators like Pike. There are of course plenty of woodland birds and lots of Grey Squirrels plus lovely blue Damselflies. Enjoy the photos!
