BERLIN
We spent four days in Berlin in the stifling heat of August. Not the ideal weather for lots of walking around, so we didn't cover anything outside Berlin. I have to admit, I didn't know quite what to expect since so much of Berlin was destroyed in WWII. It is obviously a modern city, but it is like a huge building site with tower cranes dominating the skyline. It is also a scruffy city with weeds growing in every public space. That aside, we did have a good break enjoying all the sights including the wonderful Pergammon Museum.
