Below are some photos taken at Kingsand and Rame Head, a favourite place for Plymouth locals like myself to relax and enjoy the sea views. The purpose of the trip was to get used to my new full-frame D3 camera, experiment with graduated filters and try some HDR (High Dynamic Rage) photos by taking a series of bracketed exposures then processing them later. You will also notice that some photos are in colour and also in black & white. It is useful to think how a scene might appear in monochrome as the results are often strikingly different. You can judge for yourself....
You never know what you will find on a photo trip. This amusing sign caught my eye as we left the car park in Kingsand.
I loved the colour of this dog at the harbour at Kingsand, but I think the black and white image captures character better.
Kids mucking about in an inflatable dinghy.
Outside an antique shop in Kingsand.
Some signs simply state the obvious !
Continental look in February. Red is a powerful colour, which is why Coca Cola chose it.
Another lovely dog. I loved the sheen on it's coat.
Although this looks black and white, it isn't, simply a very high contrast scene.
Mussel shells.

Windblown trees in colour and black & white for comparison....
