As I walked along the tor towards the back of the church, I saw this view..
Quite a nice photograph, but as I looked at it I noticed the trees that have been bent over by the force of the wind, so I moved in for a closer look and took this photograph.
Again quite a nice photograph, but as soon as I saw it I knew that it should look good in black and white. Why? - Because it contains a simple form (a stark tree and a wall) against an uncluttered background. The horizon line isn't ideal, it should be lower, but the photograph shows the stark reality of the weather on Dartmoor.
When I started processing my shots on the computer, I tried various black and white tones, but the best effect was a copper tone. The result is quite pleasing and something slightly different that sums up the character of Dartmoor.
I hope that you enjoy these. Feel free to leave comments on the OPINIONS page.
