VENICE & MURANO 2015
Venice is a city like no other and while it is bustling and overcrowded with tourists in summer, you can still capture great images there. Around every corner is a photo just waiting to be taken. Murano is a lot quieter. The glass factories were moved to the island to reduce the risk of fire and pollution in Venice. Our hotel (La Gare MGallery) was a former glass factory. The key features of Venice are, of course, the water and the light and both combine to make for a real photographic treat. I hope you like my images, which I will add to over the coming weeks....

GLASS
Murano is famous for its glass. Below are some photos of the glass workers and their products.

Public artworks made from glass are also found in Murano.

CARNIVAL MASKS
Venice is also famous for its Carnival, held before Lent. It was tradition to wear masks and the shops and stalls are packed with masks although, sadly, most are now made in China.
